Denver Rock Bar opened in August of 2006 to rave reviews from both press and public alike. Within weeks it had garnered itself a reputation of being one of Denver’s most popular nightspots, playing host to not just Denverites but traveling rockers from around the globe as well. To further solidify its place in the Denver scene, Rockbar was awarded "Best New Bar" in Westword’s 2007 Best of Denver issue not just from the paper’s editors but from the voting public as well and continued its award winning reputation forward. During Denver’s 2008 Democratic National Convention, everyone from Anne Hathaway to Spike Lee to Alan Cumming found themselves at Rockbar (affectionately re-named BarackBar for the week).
In 2010, Rockbar was awarded Outstanding/Best Dive Bar by Out Front Colorado readers. Since opening its doors, Rockbar has become a Denver institution, loved by locals, visitors, and everyone in between. Rockbar décor features 20 booths, each dedicated to a different band from the heyday of rock and roll. A dance floor and state-of-the-art sound system round out the musical experience, with a stocked jukebox and a history of having Denver’s rockin’-est DJs that keep the dance floor packed into the wee hours.
Rockbar is located at 3015 East Colfax Avenue, in the All Inn Motel, a part of the popular Bluebird District of Colfax. Rockbar is open Thursday-Saturday, 5pm-2am and Sunday 8pm-2am.
