The food is splendid and the service is pretty good

I love this place. Simply love it. I've been here many times and have tried various meals. I’ve been here for drinks, for brunch, lunch and dinner. This place is just me. I’ve been here with friends, family, colleagues, you name it. The food is splendid and the service is pretty good. The ambience is great and the prices, reasonable considering the quality and taste of the meals served. No wonder Duo is a part of 5280 Magazine's top 25 restaurants. Their brunch foods are delicious, especially the chorizo scramble that has got me hooked! One advice though, get a reservation before going!

DUO maked our anniversary pleasant and wonderful

When one tastes an appetizer as delicious as the Crostini- a serving with country ham, pickled peppers and kalamata tapenade, one can easily get an idea of the quality of food next to follow. We went on our first wedding anniversary to Duo and are glad that we chose them. We had made reservations a day earlier. After the delicious appetizer, we ordered the open faced Ravioli, duo of Lamb and roasted vegetable Tagine for the main course. The eggplant mash and a tomato apricot jam that accompanied the lamb T-bone and sausage just deliciously enhanced the flavor. My wife and I were both satisfied and happy with the order. For dessert my wife had Pineapple Parfait while I opted for their Apricot Almond Tart that was served with extraordinary flavored ginger ice cream. Thank you DUO for making our anniversary pleasant and wonderful. We will be back for sure!

Food was of mediocre taste

A disappointing brunch. Started off with the worst waitress we’ve ever been served by. She was slow and inattentive. It took her10 mins to get our water and further 10 mins to get our coffees. The couple sitting next to us came after us but was able to order before us and was served before as well. I can’t blame it on the Sunday rush. I ordered a pork benedict while my friend had buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. I wasn't impressed with the benedict at all. The dish was of mediocre taste. The egg was poorly prepared and was more like a soft boiled egg rather than being poached. The sandwich that my friend ordered was ok according to her but it wasn’t something special. So if I combine the service, the quality of food and the time took to get it, I’ll give this place 2 star. I’ll be trying it again though and hope that next time my experience is better.

food at DUO is great the prices are reasonable

The food at DUO is great the prices are reasonable. They have a menu that changes regularly. I’m in love with the fresh pastries served here. Been here many a times and have immensely enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and yes..the Novo coffee. I recommend that you should check it out. If you are going there for brunch, try their zippy cake. It’s just amazingly delicious.

Our meal was just delicious and filling

This was our first visit to Duo for brunch. My husband and I have had dinner here twice already and our experience has been wonderful. So we decided to try this place for brunch last Sunday. We made reservations and got there on time. We were seated quickly and our French press coffee arrived fast. Good service as always. I had the chorizo scramble while my husband ordered their ‘Sweet Sunday’ which is poached eggs served on sourdough bread with spinach, mushrooms, sun-dried tomato and home made mustard cream sauce plus crispy potatoes. Our meal was just delicious and filling. My chorizo scramble was a little spicy but overall with a great flavor. My husband was also satisfied with his order. I had a bite or two from his meal too and yes, it was awesome. The side order of Chocolate Scones was delicious as well. Overall we had a good brunch experience like our last experiences here and we will surely be back. Duo is highly recommended.

Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was super tasty

I chose Duo for breakfast yesterday after reading all those great reviews about it. The food and service at this restaurant indeed is excellent and I absolutely love the atmosphere. Although I went on a Tuesday but it was very busy, in fact it was totally packed for a week day, which says a lot about them. I tried their buttermilk fried chicken sandwich which was super tasty and satisfying. It was served with house made chips that were just delicious. For the side order I had the grits with parmesan & scallions and boy, am I hooked to this stuff. It was just amazingly delicious. The press coffee was also good and something that will get me back again. Now I will try Duo for dinner soon.

Service was frustratingly slow and the food just ordinary

Bad brunch experience. Went with a couple of friends few days ago. The service was slow, almost frustratingly slow and the food was ordinary. The chicken hash that I ordered had overcooked eggs and the whole dish lost its appeal after 6 or 7 bites. I just got tired of eating it. Not impressed. The grits were better in taste but a bit hard as if lying in. The Novo coffee however was superb. One of my friends ordered Farm Fresh Egg Sandwich which was good but it was served with potatoes and not chips like how it’s supposed to be. Upon asking our server, we were informed that they were out of chips that day. Chocolate Scones were delicious but you only get 2 little scones for $2 and these scones were literally ‘little’. We were not happy with our meals and left unsatisfied. Will not be returning for brunch at least.
