Even in heaven you asked for Fruition's pork

Finally went to Fruition Restaurant after months of wanting to try it and it did not disappoint. Everything about this restaurant is wonderfully understated, as if to make way for the food. The decor of the building (both interior and exterior) is modest and comfortable. The wait staff was very attentive, but without being intrusive. And the food was spectacular. I had the beef culotte with duck fat french fries. These might have been the best french fries I have ever had. My boyfriend had the slow cooked veal. The waitstaff did not even bother to give him a knife--the stuff just melted in your mouth. We had the lemon meringue for dessert and left full and happy. The space is small, but the table we were given actually had a decent amount of space and privacy. We did not feel cramped, though we could easily hear our neighbors' conversations if we tried. The service was fantastic--the waiter was patient and well-informed, the water was refilled regularly, and they took care of everything we needed without hovering. I started with the pasta carbonara appetizer, and it was one of my favorite restaurant dishes ever. It was nothing like most pasta carbonara dishes I've tried--the flavors were different, and all complemented each other perfectly. My husband had the potato-wrapped oysters Rockefeller, which was also delicious, and stood out from the standard. As a main course, I had the duck breast over risotto. The duck was cooked perfectly and the risotto was fantastic. My husband had the beef culotte with duck-fat fries. Again, the meat was perfectly cooked and the flavors were amazing.

Fruition is the best dollar value in Denver

Great dinner there. I really enjoyed it. The chef just was on the cover of Food & Wine for Best New Chefs. This prompted my visit. And I wasn't amazed and blow away, but was truly impressed. I had the lamb loin and honestly don't think I would get that dish again. But the appetizers and others entrees were all really great. The desserts: Crepes with vanilla bean and strawberry-rhubarb sauce. Flourless Valrhona chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and peanut brittle crust. Creamy lemon-meringue pie with melt-in-your mouth lemony custard and crisp, featherweight meringue. The "New American" food is truly inspired - many of the flavor combinations were mind-bogglingly terrific. The ambiance is reminiscent of a metropolitan (Paris comes to mind...) bistro: warm colors, lovely mirrors, soft lighting, tiny chairs and tables, well-attired employees, and (of course) the soft lull of traffic echoing from the busy streets.

Wonderful evening with great food

?My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this superb place few weeks ago. We just loved the food and the farm-to-table approach. We ordered potato wrapped oysters for starters and these were delicious, perfectly flavored. I ordered a Grilled Bavette Steak Au Poivre while Frank ordered a Mediterranean chicken for the main course. Both dishes were superb. Champagne Jean-Pierre Bouchard was a disappointment though. Didn’t get too well with the food. For dessert we ordered carrot cake, it was our anniversary... Raisins, Cinnamon Ice Cream, Caramel Sauce made this cake extra yummy. This dessert is a sure must try! Overall we had a wonderful evening with great food.

The menu is good with no bad choices

If you want to dine out at the Fruition, make a reservation, even on a weekday. Called for reservations on Monday and the earliest seating we could get was for 8:00 pm. Restaurant was warm, intimate, and busy and the service was helpful and good. Loved their Seared Proscuitto Wrapped Diver Scallops and the Mediterranean Chicken Breast, Leg & Thigh. Overall the menu is good with no bad choices. I certainly recommend this place. ?

Snooty attitude not good

My fiancée and I have been big supporters of Fruition for a long time but our last experience was a real disappointment. We had to wait over an hour before the waiter with the long gray hair and snooty attitude decided to finally take our order. The vegetarian option in the menu that night did not sound all that interesting while portions that we ordered were tiny and all over salted. Wait between courses was long and agonizing. We probably won't be running back soon. There are better options out there.

Always something new and delicious

I moved to Denver a few months ago and visited Fruition at my colleague’s suggestion. It's incredible and has become my favorite dining place. The food changes regularly, so there’s always something new and delicious for me to try every time I go there. Right now I’m hooked on their Proscuitto wrapped scallops with an English pea puree. The only set back is that the tables are too small and close together.
