Kentucky Inn Denver
890 S Pearl St
Denver 80209
Neighborhood: Washington Park West, Southwest,

About:

Kentucky Inn Denver is a must stop for people traveling from, say, Alameda to Jewell. They won’t let you stay the night (in all likelihood) but they will fill you full of hot dogs, burgers and nachos, and if the Broncos are playing, they will serve you a free shot every time the team hits the end zone.

A self-proclaimed "Midwest bar," The Kentucky Inn is just one of many small, discreet dives existing in now-posh neighborhoods like West Wash Park. Once a haven for postal workers the post office down the street is the reason the bar still opens at 7 a.m. the Inn now services a mostly younger crowd looking for PBR and Old Style by the can, served up by a friendly waitstaff that also doesn't mind making the occasional frozen pizza on request. The low-key bar is just two rooms with darts and other distractions, and while sporting events can bring in the bigger crowds, the Kentucky Inn prides itself on its local clientele and easygoing status.

Dive right in! An utterly unceremonious spot that we'd never want to see in the light of day, the Kentucky Inn is a classic dive that's never been anything but. A jukebox serves up drinker's picks, which range from Eminem to Miles Davis to Metallica, depending on who's in control. A pool table occasionally plays host to a group of Wash Park neighbors who wander in for drinks.

Decent dive bar with cheap drink prices

Kentucky Inn definitely a neighborhood staple, and owner around chumming it up with the bar regulars. The weekday day crowd is sparse, but early evenings are a perfect time to bring the family. There are plenty of kid-friendly options on the menu, and the kitchen staff is generous with entertaining special requests. But once nighttime rolls around, this place is all bar. A deceptively rowdy crowd makes it a weekend ritual, and stiff drinks and plentiful shots keep the Friday and Saturday crowds lively.

My favorite venue in Denver

Been going to this place since it opened and I honestly speaking, a good time had in this Bar. For whatever reason I end up going there sometimes and they never disappoint me. These people specialize in ruining good dive bars.
