Red Room Restaurant And Bar Denver
320 E Colfax Ave
Denver 80203
Neighborhood: Capitol Hill,
Southeast,
Red Room Restaurant and Bar Denver is a hip, laid back bar that's seriously packed from open to close with an eclectic mix of Cap Hill regulars heading up and down Colfax. This two story lounge, restaurant and bar reaps the best aspects of swankier joints, meaning you won't find any pretentious attitudes in the staff, patrons or prices, but you will find well-poured premium cocktails and excellent food at the Red Room. Perhaps the biggest draw at this Denver bar is the staff who are always quick with a smile, and your drinks.
Red Room Restaurant and Bar was spawned from the same group that opened Goosetown Tavern a couple miles east. And much like the Goosetown, it's packed to the gills. The blood-red, two-story lounge offers all the class and atmosphere of Denver's swankier martini bars--with none of the slick pretentiousness that seems to inhabit them. Regulars consist mostly of Capitol Hill residents, reflecting the neighborhood's energetic and varied demographic.

Our favorite Happy Hour bar, the Red Room on Colfax, closed thier doors, a sad day indeed. We had just arrived for our Monday happy hour ready for those wonderful $4 fish tacos and $3 wines, and a sign was posted noted the bar was closed for rennovations. Fortunately for us, the owners, Dane and Kim were inside, saw us sulking outside the door, and invited us in for a final few cocktails. They are seeking investers to re-open someday but with the current economy, chances appear to be slim. Slow business, the exit of the nearby legislative session all affected our favorite place to drink. Please raise your glasses this week to toast such a great happy hour, fun bar.
