Savory Spice Shop Cheerfully Reckless

They even have baking ingredients, exotic sugars, and extracts as well. Super friendly and helpful staff will get you exactly what you want, from a full jar of the spice to a small ounce packet for a single recipe, its easy to make it happen at Savory. his is also the only place I know of where you can buy real wasabi powder, and that includes every Asian grocery in town (even Pacific Mercantile). The stuff in the little cans is actually horseradish and mustard with food coloring. Of course, Savory has that too, helpful since it's one fifth the price of the real thing. The quality of everything here is far better than the supermarket spice rack, it's no more expensive, and you can buy in small quantities so it stays fresher. Not only are the spices and spice blends the freshest you can find anywhere, but they are less expensive than what you can buy at the grocery store. Also, once you buy a spice in bottle, you can save the bottle and just buy small bags to replenish your supply. What a great concept! Recently Mike and Janet (owners) were on an episode of Food Network's Paula Dean show. Not only did they do a great job (they should have their own show) but they really brought out the importance spices in cooking. Not only does it smell delicious (though their employees must be smell-dead by the time they get off their shifts... you know, like brain-dead? like after you've worked a long, hard day? nevermind...), you can find literally ANY spice or spice blend you want here. And some you never even knew you wanted! And what's even cooler... the aforementioned smell-dead employees really know their stuff.

Great place in hip location

This place is as good as it gets for creative chefs and shoppers alike. My boyfriend introduced me to this wonderful shop and it has become one of my favorites in Denver. It's such an enjoyable place to browse and you want to smell everything in sight. From common, everyday spices to the unique and rare, Savory Spice Shop has something for everyone. The best part s actually cooking with the spices you bought.?

This place has got SUGAR, SPICE, and EVERYTHING NICE!!!

Love this place! When you only need a little of something for a recipe, this is so much better than buying a whole bottle of a spice. I highly recommend sticking your nose in the jar of the darkest cocoa powder. I even had them search for a recipe for that. While there wasn't one in the system, I will come back for this to make ooey gooey chocolaty something.?

One of the many virtues of Savory

The shop also carries some cool packaged goods too. A particularly interesting one is the Bermuda Sherry Rum pepper sauce; $6.50 for a 5-ounce bottle gets you something like spicy malt vinegar and boozy Tabasco all in one drop. If you can't eat without dousing everything in hot sauce, try this as a change from the red stuff.

All in all, the best lesson you'll learn is that one of the best things you can do for your food is personalize it. Savory Spice Shop helps you do this with style and flavor. ?
