About:

Just off the main lobby of The Oxford Hotel is the legendary The Cruise Room Martini Bar. The Cruise Room is downtown Denver’s first bar and opened the day after Prohibition was repealed in 1933. Boasting Art Deco décor, this bar is original in its entirety. The Cruise Room was fashioned after one of the lounges on the Queen Mary. Original chrome and neon reflect onto the wall panels depicting light-hearted "toasts" from around the world. The free jukebox entertains guests in this quintessential martini bar. Order a drink from the classic cocktail menu or enjoy a handmade martini! You can also dine from the McCormick’s Fish House menu.

Cruise Room is definitely one of Denver's best !

If you want an amazing martini, The Cruise Room is the place to go! Their martinis are AMAZING. Their list of martinis and drinks is extensive and the bartender's mixing skills are fantastic- it's fun to watch them! The art-deco design is cool- makes you feel like you are sipping martinis in a different time. The first thing you'll notice are the bartenders, no matter how busy it is, and it is usually packed, they manage to get your order within the first five minutes of being there. If you can grab a seat at the bar you've hit gold and should relish in the most coveted spot for the rest of the night as you get to talk with the bartenders and learn about their recommendations which usually hit the spot every time. t was everything I thought it could be, pure deco from front to back. They know martinis, and they do them right. It was the only place I've ever seen a Collins (simple drink) done right, and they offer food from McCormick and Schmick's. The bartenders, though slammed on a Friday night, were actually finding ways to make conversation. They have a sweet old school jukebox that plays old 45's, but there was a sign that said out of order on it. I was completely bummed only to find out that it only is HALF out of order! The even numbered songs would play, but not the odd numbered songs. Love it, love it. One of my favorite places to get drinks before or after dinner. And a good place to bring friends from out of town who want to spend some time downtown or dress up for cocktails. his is one of the most amazing places I've been to in quite a while. The art deco panels were incredibly unique. The creative drink menu was very reasonably priced. Most about $9. I've paid more than twice that much for a bev of less quality! Throw in the fact that much of the fruit juice was replaced with fresh, hand muddled fruit and I'm in cocktail heaven!

Stylish, classic bar ....

Have a classic refreshing adult beverage (or three) backed up with some serviceable sea food appetizer items from McCormick's next door and you're good to go. Really surprisingly not as expensive as you might expect for this kind of place. The Cruise Room is one of my favorite bars in the US. Full of period charm and original details, you won't find many other places like it in the country. Please don't change a thing! Absolutely wonderful atomosphere - but not the place for those seeking a sports bar/big screen TV experience. Regarding other comments on food - I've had great meals and so-so stuff here. You're in the Rocky Mountains, can only expect so much when it comes to seafood, come on. he decor was fantastic, the drinks were great, and the place got pretty busy for a Wednesday night... but not so busy that it was a mad crush.
