Three Kings Tavern has been a awesome spot since they opened their doors a few years back. You can't say you've ever really had any problems here, although one thing that you wish would become a staple for all venues... and this is just your personal preference is if cover charges can be paid with a credit card.

Cool bar in Denver !

awesome venue, great staff, Jim - one of the owners- is super cool and always treated me like VIP, which is probably one of the reasons I keep going back. Also, they have a art gallery in the basement... no one knows about this... but it's pretty awesome and when pbr or camel throws an event at 3 kings then I've seen the gallery host food, photos and of course art. The bathrooms were... as expected for a dive bar with the aforementioned decor. The service was decent in that we rolled in after a concert, ordered drinks and got them. It was not packed shoulder to shoulder. Three Kings is more than just a bar to me. Three Kings is a place that my motorcycle brothers and I can get together and just chill over a beer and talk. We have only been to one concert, and it was purely by accident since we were there before the band even came in to set-up. I like the feel of Three Kings. The bartenders are all pretty relaxed and the other clients are all pretty mellow too. They had two bar areas up that night and it made getting a beer super easy. Also, I'm going to say here and now that I may be in love with their lady bartender with the awesome red hair. It could be love, or it could be the fact that she was one of the fastest, nicest bartenders I've ever seen in a crowded concert setting like that. Granted, if you aren't into scary, screamy, gutteral music... the live acts probably aren't going to be your cup of tea. No matter though... just hang out on the bar side and leave the stage show to the fans. Just be prepared to fork over a cover charge (usually no more than $5), even if you're not there for the live show. And who knows? You might actually like the band!
