Washington Park is a 100 year old public amusement park located at S Downing St. It is one of the largest parks of Denver. With hosting over 250 picnic permits per year, it also features a 2.6 mile jogging path, a recreation center and 2 of the most flamboyant flower gardens of the Mile High City. Washington Park comprises of many soccer fields, 2 playgrounds- with 1 being handicap accessible, a basketball and roller blade court, a horseshoe court, 10 amazing tennis courts and a lawn bowling green. This unique and huge park also boasts of having 2 lakes and a pond in its area.

The recreation center has just recently been renovated with an addition of an indoor pool and gym facilities for people to enjoy indoor as well as outdoor activities. It is a great place to hold free concerts that can accomodate a large number of people and a favorite place to view Denver Country Club’s annual fireworks display in July. Plenty of shops and restaurants surround this great park making it a favorite tourist attraction.

Perfect for every occasion

This has been one of my favorite discoveries since I moved here last summer.  Every possible nice day I bring my dog and spend hours walking.  I can't wait till it's warm and dry enough to bring skates. This park is huge and beautiful.  Only a couple of times have I felt it was too crowded. There is a nice center play area for kids too.  Lot's of areas to barbecue and beautiful flower areas.

Wash Park is truley great

Living near Wash Park (walking distance) is a true blessing. After have just getting done reviewing "Cheesman" I feel so honored and lucky to say that I don't have to call that place my stomping grounds. Instead, I get to come home to my cute, quaint house, light some candles and relax for awhile before heading to the park (where I don't have to worry about unleashed dogs and finding cheap condoms wrappers on the ground,as Cheesman park is so famous for). I love my community. I love my neighbors. I love my park.
