About:

Yazoo Barbeque Company, Great Memphis Style BBQ (Dry rubs) and catering. Established in 2001 The owner was born and raised in Jackson Ms and the business is named after Yazoo City which is 45min from Jackson. Once I graduated from college I moved to Memphis Tn and feel in love with all the BBQ joints there. Memphis has the biggest BBQ cookoff in the country (Memphis in May BBQ Fest) and I have been on several BBQ teams where I learned all about smoking meat. Came to Denver and no one really had really great BBQ so I started Yazoo BBQ Company.

Yazoo Barbeque is simply the best

Excellent BBQ in downtown Denver, hands down. Beautiful smoke ring on the meat. Wish they sliced their briscuit, but its a different style. If you want the 'Bob', which is a smoked skewer of chicken breast wrapped in bacon with a bit of jalapeno in the middle, then show up early. Worth faring the line and well worth the price. The line tends to seem like people waiting for concert tickets or to bust the doors down at Wal-Mart for a sale. Make sure to keep moving or you will be trampled. This place looks like the remains of a BBQ joint after an earthquake, sits in an incredibly awkward place to drive into, and can easily be missed in all the distraction of that busy part of Denver's northern downtown. But I cannot overstate how amazingly good that unassuming little sandwich was. I called Don mostly to just say thanks, because I have been so bummed out by the universal lack of good pork BBQ out West and so starved for it. If I want Carolina-style BBQ, I have to bust out my little Brinkman smoker and make it, which I do about every other week. I've completely given up looking for it in Washington. This review, just to be clear, would have been a solid 5 stars if they used hickory instead of pecan but that's just my preference and shouldn't be taken as any kind of derogatory at all. Best Spare rib I ever had; may have started to change my mind about my preference for baby backs. Best smoked pork I've ever had too, juicy and flavorful. And the chicken wings! WoW! Absolutely amazing. Big portions and low prices make this place a must see.
